My goal for this project was to create something from my own personal 2D concept with both design and art principles at the forefront of concepting! Taking a 2D concept through the pipeline of blocking out in Maya through my orthographic views, sculpting in ZBrush, UV unwrapping and retopping in Maya, texturing in Substance Painter and presenting in Marmoset, meant that while I was designing this vampire couch, I was thinking about how it would translate into 3D. This process meant I had a more thorough understanding of the model and the intentions I had for the final result.
This is the first model I have taken through the entire creative pipeline and I am really proud of the result! My confidence to model off my own ideas has improved!!
